CBT (Compulsory Basic Training)

In Scotland, a CBT course must be completed by all motorcyclists and moped riders from 16 years of age. BikeRite InstructorThese motorcycle lessons are designed to take you from a complete beginner up to a standard that will allow you to be both safe and enjoy riding on the road in most traffic conditions. This will take about a full day or more if you need it. You don't need prior training or experience. So why not try out the best motorcycle training in Scotland!

Off-Road Training: After an explanatory talk in the classroom followed by an eyesight check you will be familiarised with the bike so that you can bring your control levels up to a point that you  can  handle it confidently in a variety of manoeuvering and signalling techniques.

CBT Training

On-Road Riding: A  briefing on the theory of riding on the road is followed by a supervised run  with you radio linked to your instructor. It's not a Test it's a Training Session - So when your instructor feels that you have reached a safe standard (you might have to come back for another lesson) they will give you a CBT Certificate which validates your licence and lasts for 2 years.

FULL LICENCE COURSES

RESTRICTED

Essentially you will do your lessons and your test on a 125cc machine. This course is available to those over 17 years of age .It does mean that after passing your test you are restricted for 2 years to riding a machine that produces no more than 33 bhp. Once the 2 years are up, you do not need to take another test, you can then ride any power and size of bike.

DAS (Direct Access)

Another way to gain your full licence is through Direct Access (DAS).However this is only available to those over 21 years of age. Lessons and test will be taken on a 500cc bike. When you pass your test you can ride the bike your dreams and bank account will allow.
